A lake with differing depths from shallow to deep margins, a 4ft deep sandy plateau, and a deep channel running down the centre to a very productive deep hole of 13ft. Plenty of cover from reeds around the margins and some sparse weed growth through the middle. Noted for its fantastic hatch of damsels and sedge.
The deep hole is a hotspot all year round and with Springs emerging at it deepest point it is not surprising. Sinking lines are need to get down to where the fish are often held up but a quiet approach may reward those that like to stalk fish as the are often found under the only over hanging tree on the lake. Olive damsels, various buzzers and montanas account for the lions share of fish caught from Oak Lake.
