Lakes at Rockbourne Trout Fishery
Below is a plan of our six fishing lakes, with a brief description of each. At Rockbourne you are free to fish wherever you want. Occasionally part of the fishery may be reserved for a special event. See our opening times page for details of any restrictions.
Pine Lake
The deepest lake at about 20 feet. Crystal clear water. Noted for its hatches of pond olives and buzzer.
Spring Lake
Clear water - an excellent stalking lake. The most sheltered. Large hatches of damselfly, dragonfly, pond olives, sedge and buzzer.
Oak Tree Lake
A lake with vastly differing depths with fish often taken around the weed beds of the southern bank. The best dry fly water. Olives, sedge and buzzer.
Alder Lake
A classic nymphing water which boasts a superb hatch of mayfly. This lake stretches out attractively alongside the fishing lodge, viewable from its veranda.
Bridge Lake
Has a distinctive character and is noted for its remarkable proliferation of damselfly. Also good for sedge and mayfly
Long Acre Lake
Fed from the river. This is splendid sedge water, prolific in Corixa, Shrimp and Mayfly. A first class dry fly water.
