Trout & Fly Fishing Reports

From time to time we write short fishing reports to let you know how the lakes are fishing, and the effects of weather and seasons. If you have any specific questions about current fishing conditions please do get in touch.

Rockbourne has melted...

Some of the lakes were frozen during the last cold spell but all have now thawed and Rockbourne is fully open and back up to its best fishing. Even through the ice and snow there were still good catches and conditions continue to improve as the weather warms up.

No VAT increases at Rockbourne - Happy New Year

Despite the VAT reversion to 17.5% on 1 January 2010, we are not increasing our ticket prices. Rockbourne is even better value than usual!

Tight lines for the New Year...

Beat the weather...

Despite the wet and wild weather, November provided cracking sport to visiting anglers. Some very good individual bags were taken and the month saw an overall average of 3.74 fish per rod.

The top three fish for the month were a 16lb 4oz for Mr G Faithful from Oak Lake, 14lb 12 oz also from Oak for Trevor Davis and a 13lb 14oz specimen from Alder for Mark Valder. Best fish by a season ticket holder was Dick Johnston catching a 14lb 1oz fish from Spring Lake. All six lakes are fishing consistently well with plenty of fish still being taken on small goldhead nymphs. If fishing lures be prepared for lots of little plucks and missed bites as they are taking short on these!

We have some tackle deals going in the run up to Christmas so come and find that present or treat yourself.

Fishery improvements

We hope you will enjoy the new benches around all of the lakes and the improved bank supports by the fishing points on Spring, Pine and Oak.
If you have any suggestions as to how we might further improve the Fishery, please do let us know.
