Come fishing at Rockbourne...
On the edge of the unspoilt New Forest, Rockbourne Trout Fishery has been
home to superb trout fishing for over 35 years.
Lakes, woodland and pasture
Six lakes spread across 52 acres of woodland and pasture provides some of the
most private, secluded and beautiful fishing in the country. Our valley setting
has been protected against the pressures affecting much of England's countryside.
Spring-fed, crystal clear water provides abundant natural fly life and
excellent opportunities for stalking trout. The springs' near constant
temperatures ensure year-round sport and protect us in the summer
months when so many fisheries suffer in the heat.
Hard fighting, fully finned fish
Rockbourne Trout are about as savage and as lovely as you will find. A great fight and a great fish. Charles Jardine, Total Flyfisher magazine, April 2008
We pride ourselves on the condition of our fish. Before stocking to the main lakes, all our fish
are held in ponds with fast flowing water so they are supremely lean and fit.
To provide the best possible sport we aim for the majority of our fish to
be taken in their prime at between 3½ and 6lbs, but if its big fish you're
after you won't be disappointed. Fish over 10lbs are frequently
on the bank and the fishery record currently stands at 19lbs.
If you're new to angling or if you just fancy brushing up your skills, qualified
fly-fishing instructors can be arranged. We also have a full range of
tackle and equipment available for hire and sale.
Relax and unwind
Rockbourne also offers the perfect venue to relax and unwind. The lodge offers hot and cold drinks and microwave facilities.
Corporate entertainment and group discounts are available by arrangement.
